Is your website mobile-friendly?
Do you have an existing website? If so, is your website designed to be mobile-friendly? In today’s world, consumers are increasingly using their smartphones to surf the web and your website should be accessible on smaller screen sizes. In this post, I’ll give you some ways you can check to see if your website is mobile-optimized.
How you can check to see if your site is mobile-friendly
- View your website on your smartphone – Sometimes the easiest way really is the best! Check out your website on your smartphone and see if it is easy to read the content and if you can access the navigation area. You don’t want your website to have any horizontal scrolling.
- Resize your browser – Check out your website on your desktop computer and resize the browser window. You should be able to see the content reflow as the screen size shrinks. To resize your browser window,
simply move your cursor to the right-hand corner of the window and click when the cursor turns into an arrow. Once you’ve clicked on the corner, hold down with one hand and use a swiping motion to move the window size to the left.
Remember…your website shouldn’t look the same at every single browser size. It should be an adaptable website that reflows to meet the specific needs of site visitors at different screen sizes. Font sizes should be legible, navigation should be simple and easy to access and extra items like popups and overly-fancy graphics should be minimized. It’s all about the ease of use here!
